Chester County is among the places in Pennsylvania with the most incoming investments, according to a recently released report by SmartAsset.

To determine the counties where residents are experiencing the most investment in their local economy, SmartAssetconsidered three main factors: business establishment growth, GDP growth, and real estate growth measured through new building permits.

Chester County came in third place in Pennsylvania with an incoming investment index of 31.55. The county also placed among the Top 750 in the nation at No. 682.

In 2022, the county recorded business growth of 1.3 percent, which puts it in fourth place in the state and No. 850 nationwide.

Chester County’s GDP growth of $10,847 million was the fifth highest in the state, and it even broke into the national Top 150 at No. 139.

Finally, there were 6.5 new building permits per 1,000 homes issued in 2022, which puts the county in fourth place in Pennsylvania. Nationally, the county checked in at No. 882 in this category.
