Will Howard’s Time to Shine: Downingtown West Grad Instrumental in Recent Win Against Oklahoma State
After two years of trying to find his feet, Downingtown West graduate and Kansas State quarterback Will Howard has found himself being hailed a hero and carried off the football field as thousands of fans chanted his name after the team’s dominant victory over one of the top 10 teams, writes Kellis Robinett for The Wichita Eagle.
Howard was hoisted into the air by teammates after his impressive performance during the game during which his team demolished Oklahoma State 48-0.
“I finished up my interview with TV and then all of a sudden I’m just getting raised up,” said Howard. “I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ It was kind of funny, but that was really cool. That was something I’m going to remember for a long time and something that I will cherish forever.”
Howard got his moment to shine after being called to step in to play instead of the starting quarterback who was out due to an injury. During the game, he completed 21 of 37 passes for 296 yards as well as four touchdowns.
