VK Brewing Company Officially Opens at Former Ship Inn in Exton
The Ship Inn in Exton is once again welcoming customers after VK Brewing Company officially opened its new eatery in the historic building that it acquired last summer, writes Michael Tanenbaum for Philly Voice.
And while the restaurant already has a full liquor license, the veteran-owned business is still in the process of completing the licensing process to be able to sell its own beer at its new establishment.
Owners Jason Van Keuren and Najib Abiaad officially opened the restaurant last week. They shared photos on Facebook featuring some of the taproom’s delicious food, ranging from burgers to pizzas and pasta to oysters. Abiaad also plans to introduce specials from his native Lebanon.
The two men acquired the 18th-century stone building in West Whiteland Township in August. The building was listed for sale in February for $2.25 million by the previous owners who ran a restaurant inside the property for two decades.
The 1796 building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been praised as one of the best-preserved inns from that period.
