Michael Person, owner of the Ship Inn at 696 Lincoln Highway in Exton, has put the building housing the historic restaurant up for sale for $2.25 million. Natalie Kostelni dished the details for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Person is looking to sell the building, its liquor license, and inventory.

The 14,000-square-foot restaurant recently got a high-profile makeover, thanks to Food Network’s Restaurant: Impossible. The eatery saw its casual dining area and bar completely redesigned. The new features include whitewashed floors, sail-shaped white canvas wall dividers, and polished brass fixtures. A dog-friendly patio was also added.

The site’s owner also operates the Duling-Kurtz House & Country Inn, also in Exton.

“My son works at the other restaurant and decided not to get involved with the Ship Inn, which is what I had hoped,” said Person.

According to Geoffrey Moody, the broker who has the listing, the market has recently opened up for these types of historic properties, especially those that are freestanding.
