State Representative Jenn O’Mara and Brad Bitting had wanted to expand their family for a while, but their attempts were thwarted several times; first, it was O’Mara’s election campaign and then by the pandemic, writes Anndee Hochman for The Philadelphia Inquirer

When the couple first met in 2015, she lived in West Chester and Bitting was in Phoenixville. Their first phone call lasted for four hours and they both immediately knew there was something there. They started dating and by the next year, they were living together.

Soon the couple tied the knot. They had talked about having children but that was put on hold when they both decided O’Mara should run for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives following the 2016 election.

Once she won, the couple revisited their plans for a baby, but after months of failed attempts, they had to switch to IVF. Those attempts were put on hold once again when the pandemic hit.

Finally, when they started their IVF treatments again last year, they got the good news that O’Mara was pregnant. Their daughter, Katherine Rose, was born on July 24, bringing unmatched joy to her parents’ lives.
