The Kennett Brewing Company will host Chester County author Bruce E. Mowday for a talk and signing of his new book, Small-Town Cops in the Crosshairs: The 1972 Sniper Slayings of Policemen William Davis and Richard Posey

The signing and presentation will take place on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, from 1 PM until 3 PM at the Kennett Brewing Company on 109 South Broad Street, #2 in Kennett Square.

“In reality, Kennett Square and towns across America lost its innocence on November 15, 1972. If two policemen during their duty to protect citizens could be murdered, no one was safe,” said Mowday.

Schiffer Publishing is releasing Mowday’s book in October. The book costs $24.99 and Mowday will have copies of the book, plus others he has written, available for sale. For all of Mowday’s works, see mowday.com

Mowday interviewed members of the slain policemen’s families, investigators and Kennett Square residents for this book. He also reviewed court records and newspaper articles. Mowday, a former courthouse reporter for the Daily Local News, covered appeals of the court case.

Former Pennsylvania State Policeman Thomas Cloud said, “Bruce Mowday’s [book] is the perfect prequel for his previous books outlining the murderous, thieving, and terrorizing of the Johnston gang et al. that ravished Pennsylvania and surrounding states. It also clearly lays out how it affected the lives of two great service-oriented families and even law enforcement who found themselves seeking the truth in the loss of their friends, the officer victims.”
