‘Profound Grief, Debilitating Pain’ Put This Kennett Square Woman on the Path to Her Current Profession
Erin Bobo, a Kennett Square-based myofascial release therapist, has been healing both people and horses for more than two decades, writes Richard Gaw for the Chester County Press.
Several life-changing events put Bobo on a path to her current profession. During her senior year at Kennett High School, her beloved horse was killed by a wild animal. Soon after, she was in a car accident that left her with multiple severe injuries.
She enrolled at Lynchburg College, aiming to become a vet, but her pain, both physical and emotional, altered her plans.
“That started me on my long journey on understanding the mind-body connection,” she said. “I had all of this emotion that I was stuffing down, and it all had to do with this profound grief experience and debilitating pain.”
At 24, Bobo visited home and her mother made an appointment for her with a local myofascial therapy expert. When her body started responding to the therapy that focuses on true and long-term healing, she knew she had found her future profession that enables her to help both people and horses.
