Roslyn Swim Club, a private swim club in West Chester, has managed to weather the pandemic and is now doing better than ever, writes Erin McCarthy for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

According to board president Adam Search, Roslyn Swim Club saw around 20 percent of its member families either suspend their membership temporarily or cancel it in 2020. The situation improved the following year and is continuing to improve.

Now, “unprecedented numbers of people” have shown interest in joining the club this year. In fact, there are so many interested families that Roslyn Swim Club has had to put dozens of them on a waitlist.

Some of this interest is driven by families that moved to the suburbs during the pandemic and needed a place to socialize outdoors with their new neighbors. Others decided to forego going on family vacations since the pandemic started and instead opted for a pool membership close to home.

“We were able to weather (the pandemic) really well,” said Search. “Interest is definitely high.”
