West Chester University is dividing its spring commencement ceremonies into 16 separate services to provide more intimate programs for more than 3,300 graduates and their guests. Combined with the number of graduates from the university’s fall commencement last December, WCU has graduated a total of 4,640 students (both undergraduate and graduate) for the academic year 2021-2022.

The main campus ceremonies take place between Friday, May 13 and Sunday, May 15 in Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall in Philips Memorial Building at 700 South High Street and Hollinger Field House at 150 University Avenue.

There are 2,470 undergraduate students who will participate in ceremonies organized by department and college. Also, two ceremonies for the 713 graduate-level candidates will take place on Saturday, May 14.

Also, two special ceremonies recognize specific graduating populations with the awarding of special stoles or cords.

This is the 30th year that WCU will host a Kente celebration, which affirms and celebrates the cultural identity of students who identify as Alaskan Native, Asian and Asian American, Black and African American, Caribbean American, Desi American, Latina/o/x, Native American, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and multiracial. The Kente service takes place Thursday, May 12 at 6 PM in Hollinger. And for the second year, the WCU Honors College will hold a service on Friday, May 13, at 8 PM in Asplundh.

The procession for each hour-long ceremony begins 15 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. All ceremonies will be live-streamed.

Tickets are required for guests three years of age and older.
