The pandemic has changed the way we work forever, with remote work gaining in popularity and becoming a preferred option for a growing number of people, writes Caleb Yen for Job Journey, a blog of Express Employment Professionals.

Employers have caught on and have started offering an increased number of remote or at least hybrid options, even as the pandemic is starting to subside.

“Remote opportunities leapt from under four percent of all high-paying jobs before the pandemic to about nine percent at the end of 2020, and to more than 15 percent (at the end of 2021),” according to job search website Ladders.

This number is continuing to increase in 2022 as employers try to stay competitive and attract top talent. Data scientists from Ladders now believe that employers will be offering a remote option for one-fourth of all high-paying jobs by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, employees are overwhelmingly preferring remote work, with a Buffer survey finding that a whopping 97 percent would recommend remote work to others and 90 percent describing remote work experience as very positive or somewhat positive.
