A Haven, an Exton-based nonprofit dedicated to helping children who are grieving the loss of a loved one, will host its annual Community Breakfast on Wednesday, June 1 from 8-9:30 AM at Epicurean Garage in Chester Springs.

Tickets are $30, and all proceeds support grieving families in Chester County.

“Our goal is to share recent updates on A Haven’s growth,” said Michelle Noble, the fast-growing organization’s Executive Director. “Grief is such a unifying mission, so everyone can relate to it.”

This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a delicious breakfast, network with local businesses, and learn how A Haven aids the community.

Epicurean Garage is closed in the mornings but has opened to supply a wide range of breakfast foods, including eggs, French toast, muffins, bacon, and more. Be sure to bring along a co-worker or friend to take advantage of the event’s offerings.

“We’re growing quickly,” said Noble. “This is a chance for our partners to see how they impact and support families. It’s a way to paint a better picture of A Haven and what we do.”

A Haven acknowledges that empowering families to walk through grief together is an important piece in supporting a grieving child and therefore utilizes a family-centered approach. Research reveals that the No. 1 factor that determines how a child grieves is how the parent/guardian grieves. Family communication and a healthy environment can also lessen the burden of grief.

Knowing these factors, A Haven’s focus is to support and equip these adults to lead their children through grief in a healthy, trust-building way and navigate grief together as a family.
