2022 VISTA Millennial Superstars: Chad Maloney

By

Chad Maloney, who grew up in northern Virginia, in a small town named Lincoln, is a Partner at Goldberg, Goldberg & Maloney, a law firm in West Chester renowned for its successes in personal injury claims.

Maloney began working when he was 12 years old, doing manual labor on a neighbor’s farm. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Dickinson College, as well as his J.D. and Master of Laws in Trial Advocacy from Temple University.

Maloney credits a judge named Thomas Horne for having the biggest impact on his career.

“During a few summers in high school and college, I worked for Judge Horne in Leesburg, Va.,” said Maloney. “Judge Horne is a Marine and a former prosecutor. I always knew I wanted to be a Marine and a trial attorney, but Judge Horne helped guide me to be a Marine Judge Advocate so I could do both at once. Judge Horne’s selfless devotion to service and to his community still inspires me to this day.  Like him, I hope to use my law license to better my own community here in Chester County.”

Maloney’s proudest professional achievements are his work with crime victims.

“Prior to my current job, I was a special victims prosecutor in the United States Marine Corps and then a prosecutor here in Chester County,” he said. “I loved being a prosecutor, but I always felt like I wanted to be able to do more for the victims I worked with during criminal cases. Much of my time now is spent representing people who were victimized as children or adults, helping them get fair compensation, while also forcing institutions, both public and private, to improve their policies and procedures to help prevent future tragedies.”

Maloney’s favorite spot in Chester County is The Salty Cow in West Chester, where he enjoys “pizza and ice cream after playing with my kids at Goose Creek Park.”

Maloney and the rest of the 2022 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration held outdoors on Tuesday, May 10 at Penn State Great Valley. The in-person event will feature food trucks, drinks, touchless registration, a VIP tent, and boundless opportunities to network. It will also be live-streamed.
