Sam Cordero, a service manager at Green Lawn Fertilizing in West Chester, won a new pickup truck worth $53,000 just by driving safely, writes Pete Bannan for the Daily Local News

The company president and founder, Matt Jesson, offered his drivers a chance to win the vehicle by keeping a safe driving record throughout the year.

“The goal of our truck giveaway contest is to promote safe driving with our technicians in lawn and pest,” said Jesson.

Last week, the nine finalists were entered into a draw where the luckiest among them received the keys for the 2022 Ford F150, along with all the taxes paid on the vehicle.

Cordero, who served as a pest technician before being recently promoted, said that patience is the most crucial factor in his safe driving practices.

“Take your time, you’re going to get there,” Cordero said. “Being patient, the job is going to get done and if it doesn’t get done today, there is another day tomorrow.”

He credited the company’s scheduling department with making it possible for him to be patient by allowing enough time between jobs.
