Equus Capital Partners is developing a $140 million, multifamily project at the Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The hope is to find renters willing to pay for a variety of amenities and high-end finishes normally found in a five-star hotel.

A mixed-use community on 210 acres, The Harrison will have 200 units, though Equus declined to reveal how much each will cost.  The Harrison is the final phase of the build-out at Ellis Preserve and includes a clubhouse and 25,000-square-foot courtyard.

A two-story, 9,400-square-foot clubhouse addresses how people work and socialize since the pandemic.

“It is set up where you can have different rooms to meet and mingle,” said Joe Mullen, CEO of Equus’s Madison Apartment Group. “There will be wine tasting, and residents have access to a wine locker. There’s fitness, a pet spa, conference rooms that can be reserved, in addition to a private office or cubicles.”

The complex is expected to be completed next fall.
