After finishing its time at the Comcast NBCUniversal LIFT Labs Accelerator, Employee Cycle, a human resources tech startup co-founded by West Chester University graduate Bruce Marable, is raising a $2.5 million seed round. Kennedy Rose covered the courting of investors for The Philadelphia Business Journal.

The company takes HR data, analyzes it, and makes the results available on a dashboard. The startup already has several interested parties planning to participate in the seed round, including several venture capital firms, family offices, and angels.

“The next round of funding is really about us establishing ourselves as a leader in the space,” said Marable, who serves as the company’s CEO. “Now that we’ve built a comprehensive product, our goal is to get as many HR leaders as possible using our product.”

The funding will also help more than double the company’s team of four to around 10. Employee Cycle is expected to fill out roles in sales, marketing, and product development.

For the future, Marable wants to make the startup’s data insight more actionable for HR professionals. Employee Cycle is therefore being tweaked with a new feature that will help a business benchmark its employee diversity status against both industry and local standards.
