Mid Penn Bank has promoted Zachary Miller to First Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer.

In his new appointment, Miller will report to Rory Ritrievi, President and CEO of the Bank, and will be responsible for enterprise risk management throughout the organization. He will oversee the Compliance, BSA/AML, Internal Audit, and Loan Review functions and will manage external audit relationships.

Miller, who most recently served as Director of BSA/AML/OFAC, has been with Mid Penn Bank since 2015. In that time, he focused on the redevelopment and enhancement of the BSA framework, created and facilitated AML training and governance programs, and streamlined monitoring methodologies that efficiently identify and mitigate risk.

Prior to joining Mid Penn Bank, Miller was Assistant Vice President & AML/BSA Operations manager with Metro Bank.

“Zach has been an instrumental part of maintaining the bank’s risk profile as we have rapidly scaled to a $3 billion bank,” said Ritrievi. “His in-depth knowledge of complex industry regulations, combined with his experience in building systems and processes to drive efficiencies, will be a key part of controlling and mitigating risk as we continue to grow.”

Miller earned a bachelor’s degree from York College. He is a frequent professional speaker on compliance and BSA topics for ACAMS, a Review Board Member for CAMS-FCI Advanced Certification, and a Lead member of the Central PA AML Peer Group.
