Chester County ranks among the Top 15 Best Counties to Buy a House in Pennsylvania, according to a recently released list by Niche.com.

To determine the rankings, Niche.com compared counties in the Keystone State based on several relevant metrics, such as home values, property taxes, homeownership rates, housing costs, and real estate trends.

Chester County checked in at No. 11, making it the second-highest ranked county in the Philadelphia region, behind only Montgomery County at No. 8.

Chester County has a median home value of $357,100, significantly above the national average of $217,500.

Meanwhile, approximately 75 percent of residents own their homes.

The county also has low crime rates, significantly under the national average.
