Looking for great fall-themed activities for families? Challenge your brain and sense of direction at this local corn maze, which was cited as being among the region’s best by Lori McManus for MommyPoppins.com.

Lytle’s Farm in Lincoln University dates back to the 1940s. The Lytle family has been in the pumpkin business for around three decades, and nine years ago, it set up its first corn maze. The maze started as a fundraiser for the Lytle triplets but stuck around as a regional favorite.

Each year, Lytle’s adds new items to its scavenger-hunt-style maze. Seeking a greater challenge? Take a guess at the secret word cut into the paths.

Lytle’s Farm also offers a free hayride out to the pumpkin patch, along with a five-acre corn maze — open from Sept. 25 through Oct. 31.

Nearby, the corn maze at Cherry Crest Adventure Farm in Ronks, Lancaster County, has been voted the No. 1 corn maze in America.

The Amazing Maise Maze has more than two and a half miles of paths, bridges, and clues across its five acres. Different challenge levels are available and can last anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours.

The theme for this year is Celebrating Hometown Heroes. The maze is open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout fall.
