The Blue Béret began as a three-week experiment. But thanks to its enthusiastic reception from Wayne shoppers, it is still going strong two years later, writes Melissa Jacobs for Main Line Today.

The shop is owned by local fashionista Melissa Sinni. She expanded her stock this spring to include children’s clothes and casual-chic womenswear, along with home décor and party decorations.

Sinni graduated from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. She lived in The Big Apple, working for years before having the first of her four children. She arrived in Wayne eight years ago.

She describes the clothing she offers to women and children as “whimsical, pretty, and vintage-inspired.”

Sinni continued: “It’s about pieces that are easy to wear and comfortable but still polished and pretty. It’s hard to feel stylish when your days consist of chasing young kids. Go for comfort and function and save those stylish moments for date nights, dinners with friends, and special occasions.”

Her personal daytime style focuses on comfort and function; nights out swap out to classic quality styles and flattering silhouettes.
