Poseidon, a new Asian-fusion BYOB and sushi bar, has finally opened its doors in Paoli. The COVID-19 situation waylaid its debut in the space that was previously occupied by Redhound Grill. But now, writes Caroline O’Halloran for SAVVY Main Line, it’s steaming ahead.

Gary Chi acquired the building two years ago. He was planning to open the restaurant sooner, but the pandemic forced him to halt renovations on the building for a full year.

Chi and his business partner Kevin Wang run Poseidon. Meanwhile, Chi’s wife is in charge of his other Asian outpost, Asuka in West Chester.

The new eatery offers affordable Chinese favorites, such as noodle and fried rice dishes, along with Poke bowls, Japanese salads, and teriyakis. There is also a huge assortment of sushi, maki, and sashimi.

The outside of the location has not changed much, other than the owners adding expanded patio seating. However, inside has been completely transformed with booths and alcoves, as well as a giant sushi bar.
