West Chester native Courtney Warley, a star basketball player who recently graduated from Manhattan College, has been nominated for the 2021 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.

The award recognizes female student-athletes who distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service, and leadership during their collegiate careers. Warley, a Bishop Shanahan graduate, is one of 535 nominees from all three NCAA divisions.

She was a force on and off the court during her four years with the Manhattan College women’s basketball team.

Her accomplishments include being a three-time All-MAAC selection. Also, she was named the 2019 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and guided the Jaspers to their first postseason appearance since 2012.

Warley graduated in May with degrees in finance and management, as well as a 3.84 GPA. Outside of the classroom, she was an Executive Board Member of the Manhattan College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, as well as a member of the committee’s Executive Board and Subcommittee for Social Justice.
