Seven branches of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine are hosting open houses today, May 1, from 10 AM-3 PM. All are welcome.

Each YMCA branch’s open house features its own unique offerings. Some include tours of fitness centers, pools, childcare and early learning centers, summer camp sites, personal training demos, pickleball games and demos, crafts for kids, wellness tips, swimming assessments, snacks, open swim in the indoor pools, and the chance to meet staff and learn about YMCA career opportunities.

All who attend can enter for the chance to win a free one-year YGBW membership.

Additionally, at the Jennersville YMCA, the Chester County Health Department is hosting a walk-up vaccination clinic and will be administering 250 shots of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 9 AM. Bring your ID and health insurance card if you have one.

At the YMCA, all COVID safety protocols, including masks, are being followed to create the safest environment possible.

“It’s really important that everyone in our community know they have a place at the YMCA,” said Denise Day, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. “The pandemic created incredible isolation and unhealthy habits for many of us. Studies are showing that many people have gained weight — often more than 20 pounds. The YMCA is here to help everyone get back to being healthy. We are a place of connection. You won’t just find cardio and strength equipment at the YMCA. You’ll find people of all ages and backgrounds, a friendly, welcoming community, members rooting one another on, and helping their neighbors through food drives, blood drives, diaper drives, and more. In short, you’ll find a place to get healthy — in spirit, mind and body.”
