FOX29: Southern Chester County Beleaguered by Connectivity Issues

Stephen Papa struggles with his "spotty" service.

Connectivity issues have been plaguing southern Chester County for years, as the lack of both reliable Internet access and mobile signal availability have been making the lives of residents harder and more frustrating, reports Kelly Rule for FOX29.

For Stephen Papa, making a phone call or accessing the Internet from his East Marlborough Township home is neither simple nor fast.

“Spotty at best sometimes,” he said.

Longwood Gardens also has a problem with disappearing signal bars, as does the Kendal Crosslands retirement community.

“Having that coverage is important to us, (so) they can call and get help if needed,” said Seth Beaver, senior director of resident and community affairs.

Longwood Fire Company keeps a backup to a backup to ensure that first responders remain reachable.

“It’s really a big issue that needs to be addressed,” said Jessica Sahl with the Chester County Intermediate Unit.
