The YMCA of Greater Brandywine has partnered with the Chester County Health Department to provide space for additional COVID-19 vaccine clinics.

The Chester County Health Department has contracted with the YMCA for COVID-19 vaccine clinics at a selection of branches.

“We value the support of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine as we continue to roll out our vaccine program in the county,” said Jeanne Franklin, Director of the Chester County Health Department. “This is a natural partnership that contributes to our common goal of a healthy community, and the YMCA locations and facilities match our community needs for vaccine clinics.”

The Chester County Health Department is currently contacting individuals in Phase 1A who pre-registered their interest in receiving the vaccine. Individuals who are interested in getting the vaccine through the Chester County Health Department but haven’t registered can call the department’s COVID-19 call center at 610-344-6225 or register online.

While the YMCA is providing space for the clinics, it has no role in determining who qualifies or receives the vaccine, nor does it have the ability to schedule appointments.

Upon arrival to the YMCA, individuals with COVID-19 vaccine appointments will follow directional signage to a separate entrance. The YMCA will remain in operation for its members, and program participants who should continue to utilize the main entrance.

“Our YMCA is committed to strengthening our Chester County community,” said Denise Day, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. “Throughout the year, we do this through our financial assistance programs, food drives, educational offerings, and so much more. Now, I am proud that we are able to donate space in our facilities to help with COVID vaccination efforts.”
