Berwyn-based Ametek has boosted its electronic instruments and electromechanical sectors with three more acquisitions that total $270 million, writes Kennedy Rose for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The electronics manufacturer bought Magnetrol International, Crank Software, and EGS Automation, which have a combined annual revenue of around $120 million.

Magnetrol is based in Aurora, Ill., and specializes in level and flow control in various industries, including medical, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas. German-based EGS is a robotic company that designs and produces custom robotics for the medical, general industrial, and food and beverage industries. Meanwhile, Canada-based Crank Software offers different graphical user interface software such as Storyboard, its user interface development and prototyping program.

The three companies have more than 300 employees combined.

“Each of these businesses provide Ametek with unique capabilities which strategically expand our presence in attractive growth areas,” said Ametek CEO David A. Zapico. “We continue to strengthen our portfolio through the acquisition of market-leading businesses with innovative, advanced technology solutions.”

He said that the company plans to continue to manage an “active deal pipeline” in the future.

Last week, the company announced its plans to acquire Abaco Systems for $1.35 billion.
