Wilmington University Earns Spot on Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s 2021 Transfer Honor Roll

By

Through generous transfer credit acceptance and flexible bachelor’s degree completion programs, Wilmington University strives to provide transfer students with a smooth experience and personalized support.

As a result, WilmU is one of 150 colleges and universities nationwide that have been recognized by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society with a spot on its 2021 Transfer Honor Roll.

The recognition is especially meaningful for WilmU staff, who realize that the transfer experience can be challenging. The university also provides $1,000 annually to five active PTK members who are continuing their education at WilmU.

“Transferring to a new academic environment can be overwhelming,” said WilmU President Dr. LaVerne T. Harmon. “Our goal is to help every transfer student overcome specific administrative hurdles. We’re dedicated to offering them the excellent services they deserve and ensuring that they feel appreciated, welcomed, and supported at Wilmington University. We are humbled by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s recognition and inspired to continue our work as a transfer-friendly university.”

“The Transfer Honor Roll reflects the growing importance of recognizing and responding to the needs of transfer students,” said Phi Theta Kappa CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner. “This award is given to four-year colleges and universities with proven outcomes for transfer success. They are the best at providing a supportive and smooth transition from community college — equating to increased rates of bachelor’s degree attainment for transfer students.”
