Philadelphia’s Di Bruno Bros., renowned for its Italian cuisine, is opening a store in April in Wayne, writes Molly Given for Metro Philly.

The store will open at 375 West Lancaster Avenue in the Strafford Shopping Center.

Di Brunos is a staple in Philadelphia, with its gourmet cheeses, made-to-order sandwiches, and hand-made baked goods.

“For over 80 years and three generations, we’ve served the Philadelphia region and brought some of the world’s most exciting culinary experiences and delicious specialty products to our hometown,” said President Bill Mignucci Jr., third-generation owner and grandson of Danny Di Bruno. “This new location is an evolution of our beloved, homegrown shop with even more energy, expertise, and enthusiasm for all things edible.”

Here’s a 75th anniversary video on the history of Di Bruno Bros.

The 8,000-square-foot Italian marketplace will combine storytelling and shop-keeping, with eye-catching displays along with a variety of cheeses, cured meats, olives, antipasti and global delicacies, artisan pantry products, and more.

“We are proud and honored to join our close neighbor, the Lancaster County Farmers Market, which has been a staple in Wayne for almost 70 years,” said Emilio Mignucci, Vice President of Culinary Pioneering, third-generation owner and cousin of Bill Mignucci.
