JPMorgan Chase has elevated Chester County resident Jennifer Roberts to CEO of its consumer banking division, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

In her new role, Roberts will oversee around 40,000 employees and around $600 billion in deposits that are spread across 4,900 branches throughout the country.

Roberts has spent the past 25 years at Chase, most recently serving as the CEO of Chase Business Banking. This unit serves more than three million business owners with up to $20 million in annual revenue by providing them with deposit, credit, and cash management services.

Over the last year, she has led Chase’s strategy and execution of the Paycheck Protection Program. Under her supervision, the bank distributed more than $32 billion in forgivable loans, more than any lender.

“She has been an outstanding leader since joining the firm in 1996,” said Gordon Smith, co-president and COO for JPMorgan Chase and CEO of consumer and community banking. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, excelling in multiple executive roles across Chase.”

Roberts also serves on the board of WHYY.
