Brandywine Health Foundation to Host Virtual Conversation on Allyship on March 31

Sidney Hargro, President of Philanthropy Network, will moderate a virtual conversation about allyship on March 31.

The Brandywine Health Foundation invites the public to learn how to become an effective ally both personally and professionally. Learn how effective allies actively amplify the voices of oppressed communities through intentional and conscious efforts to positively uplift marginalized communities.

The Brandywine Health Foundation will host its third virtual conversation – “Let’s Talk Unified Giving: Allyship” – on Wednesday, March 31 from 12-1:15 PM.

The program, sponsored by Gawthrop Greenwood, promises to be a high-energy, thoughtful discussion with several foundation leaders throughout the Philadelphia area sharing their thoughts on how to become an effective ally.

The panelists will engage in a dynamic and groundbreaking conversation about embarking on a racial equity journey. The foundation leaders will share their perspective on what it means to be a passive versus active ally; help participants understand the barriers that interfere with their ability to change their personal behavior and organizational culture in order to make intentional change; and discuss what the philanthropic sector can do to be an authentic ally.

The event will be moderated by Sidney R. Hargro, President, Philanthropy Network. Panelists include:

  • Sarah Martinez-Helfman, President, Samuel S. Fels Fund
  • Michelle Legaspi Sanchez, Executive Director, The Fund for Women and Girls
  • Joe Pyle, President, Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation
  • Jason D. Alexander, Principal and Co-Founder, Capacity for Change, LLC
