Largest Law Firm in Harrisburg Enters Local Market with Addition of Three Veteran Chester County Lawyers

McNees Wallace & Nurick, the largest law firm in Harrisburg, has entered the Philadelphia market with the addition of three veteran Chester County trusts and estates lawyers, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Joan Agran and Garth Hoyt joined the firm as partners, with McKinley “Sandy” McAdoo serving as counsel. The trio will work from McNees Wallace & Nurick’s new office in Devon.

According to McNees Wallace & Nurick Chairman Brian Jackson, the firm did not consider the option of opening an office in Philadelphia, despite having some clients in the city, due to its high real estate prices.

The firm has always found the suburbs to be appealing and was happy to find lawyers that were a good fit from both a practice and culture standpoint. Still, a definitive move had not been decided on until now.

“I think it’s been the combination of opportunity and perhaps, in our new iteration, having a more entrepreneurial attitude,” said Jackson. “We’ve been able to withstand the pandemic and are positioned to invest into new areas.”
