2021 VISTA Millennial Superstars: Thomas Fillippo

By

Malvern native Thomas Fillippo is the Chief Executive Officer of Devault Packing Company, which does business as Devault Foods, one of the most trusted and recognized names in the meat production and processing industry that partners with markets all over the world while also offering products direct to consumers.

Fillippo, who began working in the warehouse at Devault Foods, is a former Army Ranger who earned a bachelor’s degree in History from West Chester University. He credits Brett Black, the President of Devault Foods, with having the biggest impact on his career.

“Brett has been one of my biggest mentors since I got out of the Army and started back at the company,” said Fillippo. “He has been an exceptional sounding board for me. His guidance and leadership have helped me grow as a person and a business leader.”

Fillippo’s proudest professional achievements are enlisting in the Army, being selected to the 75th Ranger Regiment, and succeeding his father in the family business.

Since 1949, Devault Foods has grown from a singular butcher shop to a 114,000 square-foot facility that has the capability to process more than two million pounds of beef products each week.

Fillippo’s favorite Chester County restaurant is Alba in Malvern.
