2021 VISTA Millennial Superstars: Jessica Morrell

By

Jessica Morrell, who was born in Pittsburgh but spent the majority of her youth living in Augusta, Ga., is the Associate Director Campus Ministry at Immaculata University.

Morrell, who began working as a 15-year-old as a minor league baseball team’s mascot, earned a bachelor’s degree in History and Theology from Saint Vincent College in western Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry and master’s certificate in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from Duquesne University. She credits all the educators she has had with having the biggest impact on her career.

“From an early age, my teachers, coaches, and administrators had an incredible impact on me,” said Morrell. “So many of them always went the extra mile to make me feel cared for and to give me the tools to succeed. I am still in touch with many of them – including some of my grade-school teachers – to this day. I try to model their behavior in my work and life.”

Her proudest professional achievements are seeing her students succeed.

“It’s when my students are able to utilize the skills and lessons from their time volunteering and participating in service projects with me to continue to be successful and give back to their families and communities,” said Morrell.

Her favorite nightspot in Chester County is Bridge Street in Phoenixville, specifically Stable 12 Brewing Company and Bluebird Distilling.
