First Resource Bank, which was recently named Best Bank in Chester County for the fourth consecutive year by readers of the Daily Local News, has appointed Sharon Sharpe, a long-time client, as Market Manager of its Wayne location.

Having recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the branch’s opening, Sharpe was brought on board as part of the bank’s commitment to serving the needs of local businesses along the Main Line. In her role, she will be responsible for helping small businesses access the banking solutions they need to grow and prosper.

Sharpe, who previously assisted local homebuyers in finding their dream home, is no stranger to helping members of the community achieve their goals. She and her husband Doug started Sharpe Builders more than 30 years ago and have worked with hundreds of local homeowners in finding, building, and repairing their homes. It is through her family business that Sharpe became acquainted with First Resource.

Prior to the bank opening its doors in 2005, Sharpe was referred to Glenn Marshall, First Resource’s CEO, during his tenure with Elverson National Bank. Marshall’s attentiveness to serving the banking needs of Sharpe’s family business laid the foundation for the long-term relationship that ensued.

Having relocated its banking relationship each time Marshall’s career led him to a new institution, Sharpe Builders found its forever bank when Marshall and co-founder Lauren Ranalli decided to open First Resource Bank. Fifteen years and thousands of transactions later, Sharpe continues to be one of the bank’s dedicated customers and biggest supporters.

“Sharon’s extensive experience as both a customer of the bank and business leader in the community will be pivotal in helping to serve the needs of the Main Line market,” said Marshall. “With so many banking options out there, we need to be sure that our team members put customer satisfaction at the forefront of everything we do. We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect candidate for this role, as Sharon lives and breathes this motto.”

“The relationship between a small business and their bank cannot be underestimated,” said Sharpe. “Businesses will inevitably face struggles, and having a good relationship with your bank can make all the difference in overcoming them. Having been on the receiving end of the bank’s relationship-based model, I am thrilled to help local small businesses experience the same level of exceptional service that I have come to know and expect.”
