When Steve and Priscilla decided to quarantine together only four months into their relationship, alternating between their West Conshohocken and Philadelphia residences, they did not expect for it to last more than six weeks, writes Kellie Patrick Gates for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

But seven months in, the two, both in their early 70s, are happy they took the gamble that allowed them to build something unexpected but special.

When they started dating, both wanted to take things slowly. In addition to being cautious with the new relationships, they were also busy with their jobs and volunteer work.

But when the pandemic hit, they needed to make a choice. They were not boyfriend and girlfriend, but there was a possibility of something more. So they decided to risk it and socially isolate together.

Both extroverts, they have been spending their time hiking and riding bikes, creating new mixed drinks, and sharing childhood stories. And in the end, staying together has proven to be the right choice.

“We have been looking at real estate listings to buy a house together,” said Steve.
