DASD Superintendent to Discuss ‘Navigating as a Female CEO’ at GWCC’s Women’s Roundtable

By

The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming Women’s Roundtable will feature guest speaker Dr. Emilie Lonardi, Superintendent of the Downingtown Area School District, as she discusses the joys – and challenges – of being a female CEO.

The presentation – entitled “Navigating as a Female CEO” – is set to take place via Zoom on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 5:30 PM.

GWCC’s Women’s Roundtable, sponsored by Miles Financial Management, Inc., is a social and educational discussion series for professional women to gather and connect while learning from the region’s most poignant female speakers in an intimate setting.

Dr. Lonardi will discuss:

  • gender disparity among superintendents, despite teaching being a predominantly female industry
  • stereotypes in the daily work of school superintendents
  • micro-inequities she has faced and continues to face in her position

“In a world where women only hold 25 percent of C-suite positions, we are excited to present such a powerful discussion to encourage women of all ages and say ‘it can be done,’” said Melissa Hawes, founder of Miles Financial Management. “We are excited to sponsor such a great and well-rounded event like the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Roundtable series.”
