Joint Venture Formed in Exton to Provide Management Services to Independent Doctor Groups
Exton-based Gateway Medical Associates and West Conshohocken-based Tandigm Health have formed a joined venture, Tandigm Physician Services, to offer physician practice management services to independent doctor groups, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The new company will begin managing the practice of 40 doctors in Gateway. Based in Exton, it is being launched with 165 employees, all of whom were previously with Gateway.
Before creating the spin-off, Tandigm worked with Gateway for several years. According to Frank Ingari, Tandigm CEO, the company was impressed with the way Gateway manages its practices, including incorporating elements such as chronic care management and data analytics.
“What we are doing is taking those capabilities and components inside Gateway, spinning that out, and turning it into a standalone company that we will jointly own with Gateway,” said Ingari.
The aim of the new management services organization is to provide services that will enable doctors to thrive in a changing environment.
“We’re not just talking about the pandemic,” said Ingari. “There’s the shift to value-based care, the aging of the baby boomers, and the rise in telemedicine. Primary care doctors are in the center of all that.”
