SEPTA has released its reopening guide that details what customers can expect as it moves through the yellow phase and eventually into the green phase, writes Patricia Madej for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Among other things, SEPTA has imposed rider limits, marked off seats to ensure social distancing, and mandating facial coverings. SEPTA General Manager Leslie Richards believes these steps will be necessary until there is a vaccine.

“We are doing everything that we can,” said Richards. “While we are able to enforce rider limits, we will do so. But there will come a time when the number of riders who need to use our system will not allow us to enforce rider limits, and that’s why the facial coverings are so important.”

Among other changes noted in the report are the transportation authority’s intent to continue sanitizing its vehicles at least twice a day and doing overnight power washing at stations.
