Florida-based Jushi, which owns BEYOND / HELLLO, a medical marijuana dispensary in West Chester, has acquired a Pennsylvania grower and is planning to increase production and lower prices, writes Sam Wood for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The aggressively expanding Jushi currently holds permits to operate 15 cannabis dispensaries in the Keystone State under its retail brand BEYOND / HELLO. Five of these locations – Ardmore, West Chester, Bristol, Northern Liberties, and Center City – are in the Philadelphia area.

Now that the company has added its first Pennsylvania grower, it plans to increase the quality and quantity of pharmaceutical-grade marijuana produced at the facility.

“We’re bringing in the A-team of cultivation experts from Colorado and Canada,” said founder and president Erich Mauff.

The company expects to ultimately expand indoor cultivation at the facility to 70,000 square feet and to reduce the overall cost to patients who have to pay for medical marijuana out of pocket as their insurance does not cover it

“We will be able to sell to patients at a discount because we’ll no longer be held hostage by other growers,” said Mauff.
