Greater West Chester Chamber Creates ‘Closed But Still Awesome’ Signs for Local Businesses
The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce has created “Closed But Still Awesome” posters available for free to local businesses.
These posters are designed to boost morale and generate solidarity within the region’s business community, while communicating to customers which businesses are closed during the pandemic.
Coordinated by GWCC, these signs are available for free thanks to numerous local sponsors, including West Chester University, Arthur Hall Insurance, and Benchmark Federal Credit Union. Those with posters are encouraged to share a picture of them on their storefronts on social media (#ChesterCountyStrong and @GreaterWestChester), so they can help to market local businesses.
“We wanted to create something that gave our businesses some hope,” said Mark Yoder, president and CEO of GWCC. “A lot of businesses are closed, but the community will come back together stronger than ever in the end because our local businesses are what make the greater West Chester region such a vibrant place to live and work.”
Yoder also noted that the bright yellow of the signs fits seamlessly into the “A World of Hearts” displays seen in downtown West Chester. This movement – launched by local barber shop, Charlie & Co. – began as an idea to spread positivity throughout the community, and it has seen many downtown businesses, including GWCC, fill their windows with multi-colored heart displays.
GWCC’s “Closed But Still Awesome” posters are available for pick-up at Market Street Print, GWCC’s office, and ShopRite on West Chester Pike.
It is also available for download here.
