With packed shelves that offer something for everyone, the Woman’s Exchange of West Chester is still going strong after 75 years, writes Bill Rettew for the Daily Local News.

Among the consignment shop’s products are art, jewelry, china, glassware, and small furniture.

The shop is still so popular after more than seven decades at the same South Church Street location because “we bring back wonderful memories of when people were growing up,” said Shelly Coover, board president.

The thrift shop recycles and repurposes items for various events such as bridal showers.

“It’s good, quality items, and customers are pleasantly surprised,” said Lynne Sidell, vice president and treasurer. “We’re not your typical thrift shop — it’s a step up with good prices.”

The Woman’s Exchange is a nonprofit that donates the proceeds of its sales to local organizations. Last year, it donated $28,000 to 12 organizations.

Anyone putting their items on consignment pay $15 per year and receive 60 percent of the sale price.
