Jeanne Casner

Jeanne Casner, Director of the Chester County Health Department, held a press briefing last week where she shared several tips on how to remain healthy amidst the coronavirus outbreak, writes Michael Rellahan for the Daily Local News.

Casner reiterated the importance of washing hands with soap and water and limiting travel. She explained that people should clean their phone and computer and avoid touching their face, mouth, and nose. Staying out of large gatherings and practicing social distancing are also advised.

Most importantly, she said, “instead of approaching this as a time of disruption in our daily lives, I encourage you to approach it as a time to connect with your family.”

She also laid out what the department has been doing since the outbreak was confirmed in the U.S. in January. This includes investigating every suspected case and working with “healthcare providers to make sure they have the most current information available to do their clinical evaluations and perform testing.”
