Lindsay McLaughlin of West Chester met the love of her life, Stephen Wasylenko, during their freshman year at the University of Scranton, and nine years later, she married him in their dream ceremony, writes Kellie Patrick Gates for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
As soon as they started hanging out, the two realized how much they had in common. Both were the oldest of three kids raised in close-knit Irish Catholic families. They had both attended Catholic high schools – she at Villa Maria Academy and he at La Salle College High School. And most of all, both are huge fans of the other’s kindness.
They started dating during their junior year. Several years after graduating, they decided to buy a house together in a new Malvern development. A few months later, Wasylenko proposed.
The couple got married at Saints Peter & Paul Parish in West Chester, while the reception for 220 guests was held in the ballroom at Ellis Preserve.
“It was all white, clean, and modern-looking,” said McLaughlin.
