The Picture It! Book Club will kick off Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 12:30-1:30 PM at the Chester County Library’s Henrietta Hankin Branch in Chester Springs.

Led by librarians Kate Woodworth and Claire Michelle Viola, this book club welcomes adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental differences to come and enjoy listening to and sharing their thoughts on a picture book. The reading and discussion will be followed by a fun activity related to the content of that week’s book selection.

The Picture It! Book Club will meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 12:30-1:30 PM. There are numerous amazing picture books that offer a lot to learn and think about for people of all ages. Henry’s Freedom Box, an award-winning book written by Ellen Levine and illustrated by Kadir Nelson that relates a true story about the Underground Railroad, will be the first book.

The Picture It! Book Club is the second book club at the Henrietta Hankin Branch Library that is designed to meet the literary and social needs of adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental differences.

The Next Chapter Book Club continues to meet on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 PM. This club meets for 12 weekly sessions. Anyone who is interested in joining or would like more information can contact Claire Michelle Viola at cviola@ccls.org or 610-321-1710.

Registration for Picture It! Book Club meetings is encouraged but not required. Click here to register or call 610-321-1710.
