Malvern Bank, National Association recently donated 284 pounds of food to the West Chester Food Cupboard.

The donation was the result of the bank’s winter Food Drive, during which customers and employees donated non-perishable food items at the bank’s branch offices from Nov. 15 to Dec. 20.

Also, Malvern Bank presented a check for $518 to the West Chester Food Cupboard that represented the value of the donated food, plus proceeds from the bank’s #GivingTuesday Facebook promotion.

During the promotion, the bank donated $1 for every Facebook “Like” or “Share” on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3. Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that highlights one day a year – the first Tuesday in December – to encourage people to do good in their communities.

“On behalf of our customers and employees, Malvern Bank is pleased to have the opportunity to assist our community members during this time of need,” said Patricia McLennan, the Bank’s Senior Vice President and Director of Community Development. “The West Chester Food Cupboard is a volunteer-run organization that provides a vital service to residents in Chester County.”
