2020 VISTA Millennial Superstars: Zach Dunlap
Wagontown native Zach Dunlap is an Installer Mechanic at Brandywine Valley Heating & Air Conditioning, which has been providing “Comfort with Care” for both residential and commercial customers since it opened its doors in 1993.
Dunlap is a graduate of the HVAC & Refrigeration Technology program at the Technical College High School’s Brandywine campus. He credits one of his instructors there, Glen Kerstetter, with having the biggest impact on his career.
Dunlap’s proudest professional achievement is becoming an HVAC mechanic and running his own jobs.
“Growing up, I always worked on dirt bikes and cars, and I’ve always been hands on with stuff,” said Dunlap, who began working in maintenance when he was 15 years old at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster.
He sees himself working at Brandywine Valley HVAC until he retires.
“Every day brings a new challenge, which I like,” Dunlap said. “One day, you can be doing duct work, and the next day, you can be doing wiring or relays. And you’re always going to somewhere different, whether it’s commercial or residential.”
His favorite Chester County restaurant was the now-closed Wimpy & Dee’s Diner in Honey Brook.
