Matt Holliday, who was born in Norristown and moved around the region a lot as a child, is the Executive Director of the Chester County Bar Association and the former Prothonotary of the County of Chester.

Holliday earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from West Chester University. He credits multiple people as having a big impact on his professional career.

“I’ve been fortunate to have a number of folks looking out for me and encouraging me,” said Holliday, who began working when he was 14 years old at Acme. “By far, the members of the Rotary Club of West Chester have become a fantastic support system, both professionally and personally. Also, Richard May and Tracy Sammarone have both provided a great example for me to follow in my nonprofit service.”

Holliday’s proudest professional achievement is establishing a private/public partnership between the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County and the Chester County Court of Common Pleas.

“Because of this partnership, victims/survivors of domestic violence can now get assistance from trauma-trained legal advocates and an attorney as they seek to obtain a Protection from Abuse Order,” he said.

Holliday’s favorite Chester County restaurant is Four Dogs Tavern in West Chester.
