ESS Energy Products – a small, family-owned company based in Malvern – is introducing its patented attic energy efficiency product to international customers, writes Donna Rovins for the Daily Times.
The company produces Energy Guardian attic access covers that provide an air seal for attic entrances, which is often an overlooked source of energy loss in homes. ESS Energy Products provides kits to insulate both push-up hatch attic covers and pull-down attic stairs.
Founder and CEO Jim Melesky started the company 10 years ago in the family garage. Melesky, who is the inventor of Energy Guardian, is joined in the business by his sons, Mike Melesky, who is vice president of finance and operations, and Dennis Melesky, the company’s vice president of sales and marketing.
For about four years, ESS Energy has been selling its products online through HomeDepot.com and both in-store and online at Menards.
Starting in October, the company also began offering its products in Canada online and also added Lowes.com to its local distributors.
So far, the response to the newly added sales channels has been going well, and the results are ahead of where the company expected them to be after just a few weeks in.
