Family Jazz Night at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center will feature beloved holiday music performed by the premier interpreter of classic cartoon soundtracks on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 PM.

Cartoon Christmas Trio will perform music from classic holiday cartoons – like A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Grinch, and more – and will be accompanied by the young voices of children’s choirs to complete the original vision for that music.

The Trio – Jeff Knoettner on piano, Rob Swanson on double bass, and Jimmy Coleman on drums – was established in 1995 for the sole purpose of capturing the nuances of holiday music scores by Vince Guaraldi and his contemporaries. At Uptown!, the Trio will be joined by world-class baritone Grant Youngblood and the choirs of Hillendale, Pocopson, and Unionville elementary schools, under the direction of Stephen and Eileen Jennings.

December is a festive month at the theater, with The Resident Theatre Company’s production of Into the Woods and the theater’s New Year’s Eve celebration, “Puttin’ on the Glitz.”
