Mean Girls, the musical that features Bishop Shanahan High School graduate Mary Kate Morrissey, has arrived in Philadelphia and will run through Dec. 1, according to a report from Broadway World.

Morrissey was a member of the Philadelphia All Catholic Chorus and afterward interned for Kimmel Center Programming. Her family used to reside in South Philadelphia and Upper Darby, but currently lives in Downingtown.

The Mean Girls First National Tour opened at the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus in the Academy of Music on Nov. 19. The record-breaking comedy based on the hit film features a book by Tina Fey, music by Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin.

The musical opened in April 2018 to rave reviews, with New York Magazine calling it “HILARIOUS! A smart, splashy new musical that delivers with immense energy, a wicked sense of humor, and joyful inside-jokery.”
