Amanda Tredway, a Downingtown West High School graduate, is enjoying a successful final season of soccer at Virginia Commonwealth University, writes Adam Cheek for The Commonwealth Times.

Tredway, a fifth-year senior who already possesses a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and is working toward a master’s, has three goals in 18 matches for the Rams, who are 9-6-3.

The 5-foot-10 forward redshirted her first season but has since played in every match. She has 12 goals in her college career.

The Downingtown native said that it is an honor to represent VCU on the soccer pitch.

“It’s like a family to me,” said Tredway. “Everyone that I’ve played with these past five years have really been sisters to me.”

In her final season, she has seen her role on the roster shift to become more of a leader.

“It’s almost like a lot of the younger girls look up to me for answers, whether it’s school-related or soccer-related,” she said. “It’s definitely a big role. But I like it.”
